Canadian Thanksgiving is just around the corner. I felt like this was a good time to remind myself and others we can share our gratitude with the world. I have many things to be grateful for this week as I reflect and the week isn’t over yet! That is the crazy part for me.
My week started on Sunday evening when I had the privilege of being interviewed by Will Reed about my new book “Always Improving: Lessons from the samurai”. Will is a professor of Samurai Culture & History and the Art of Shodō (Calligraphy) at the International College of Liberal Arts in Kofu-shi, Japan. The interview was being recorded so he could share the replay with his students.
This was such an amazing interview and I will be posting a link to it very soon when I get it uploaded into my YouTube channel. I was humbled someone who has devoted his life to studying the Samurai Arts would want to interview me about my book. It was truly an honor.
Then on Monday, I was notified one of my articles I submitted to a publication on Medium, Japonica, had accepted my article and published it. I was beside myself. Here is the link to the article: https://medium.com/japonica-publication/want-to-avoid-missed-milestones-and-targets-df405ad2a99a?source=friends_link&sk=2abd814b8715e1c0607608ecc7964470
This particular article was a reprint of one of my blog posts that needed some slight modification, but it felt amazing to be accepted to a publication that publishes content about Japan and it’s culture.
Which leads me to the 3rd thing that happened this week for which I am grateful. I had a second article published on Medium! This time the publication that published my article was Better Humans, a publication dedicated to providing content for people to improve their lives. Here is the link to that article: https://betterhumans.pub/6-leadership-lessons-from-being-part-of-a-mountain-guiding-team-b37976694a1c?source=friends_link&sk=88c1feadacbfac2835836703175343de
This was another reprint of a past blog post that I modified about my experience being part of a mountain guiding team.
Needless to say, this week has been quite amazing. The part that I am most grateful for about it all is all 3 of these relate to my writing. I have had a recent identity shift to believing I am a writer, and these experiences validate that new belief I am forming for myself.
Here is a bonus thing I am grateful for. Yesterday the audio version of my book became available on Audible. If you’d like to check it out here is the link: https://www.audible.com/pd/B0BHF3HGCP/?source_code=AUDFPWS0223189MWT-BK-ACX0-324594&ref=acx_bty_BK_ACX0_324594_rh_us
I appreciate all of you who have been following me on this journey and I am honored that you would take time out of your schedule to spend time with me and my thoughts. Have a stellar rest of your week, and don’t forget to reflect and show gratitude for the good things that are happening for you.
